Are our boats getting enough visibility?
Help us understand whether particular listings are struggling because of visibility, and which external marketplaces deserve further investment.
What are we considering?
We are reviewing how Boatshed listings are found, where we distribute them externally and whether centrally coordinated arrangements with TheYachtMarket and Boat24 could improve visibility for our boats and brokers.
Why are we asking?
Brokers regularly ask whether particular boats are receiving enough attention. However, low enquiry levels can have several causes, including visibility, asking price, location, presentation, seasonality and confidence in the market. We need specific examples and direct experience before deciding where Boatshed and individual offices should invest.
Background information
Our Google traffic fell during 2025 and has been recovering through 2026. We are continuing to improve the Boatshed platform and create additional routes by which buyers can discover individual boats.
The existing feed to TheYachtMarket is now working. We have received a proposal covering up to 600 boats for £4,080 per year, with individual Boatshed offices set up so that enquiries reach the correct contacts. We need to establish which offices would genuinely participate and approximately how many boats they would include.
We are also discussing a possible network arrangement with Boat24. Its European reach and search visibility appear strong, and its management system provides listing and enquiry reporting. No final arrangement has yet been agreed. We particularly want to hear from brokers who have used Boat24 and can provide direct evidence of the results.
This consultation is not a vote between platforms. It will help us distinguish visibility problems from other sales issues and make better-informed commercial decisions.

What happens next?
We will investigate the boat references submitted, review the experience reported for each marketplace and compare broker feedback with the traffic and enquiry data available to us. We will then publish what we heard, what Boatshed has decided and what happens next. Any financial figures or expressions of interest will be treated as indicative, not as commitments.
Your email address and answers are private to authorised Boatshed reviewers. Your name will appear in the public respondent list unless you choose to keep it private.
